Last November 4, 2016, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Romblon Field Office awarded a total of Php 313,027.00 to two associations in the Munipality of Ferrol. Php128,870.00 for Agnocnoc Free Farmers Association (AFFA) for their Banana Chips Production and Php184,157.00 for the Coconut Delicacies Production of Sitio Punta Ferrol Women’s Association (SPFWA).

DOLE Romblon Field Office Head Mr. Carlo B. Villaflores, was warmly welcomed by Sangguniang Bayan members Hon. Nestor Prado and Hon. Christian Gervacio as representatives of Hon. Mayor Jovencio Ll. Mayor, Jr. and the members of Agnocnoc Free Farmers Association and Sitio Punta Ferrol Women’s Association.

In his message for the members of AFFA and SPFWA, Mr. Villaflores encouraged the groups to have trust between and among members and officers for a more harmonious relationship within the association. He also challenged the association to have commitment and make their Banana Chips Production and Coconut Delicacies Production a success and dream of having their product displayed and marketed in different parts of the Philippines. This dream will not only promote their products but  also promote Ferrol, Romblon as well. He also reminded the two associations to show and prove to DOLE that they deserve to be given livelihood assistance. He also reminded AFFA and SPFWA to cooperate with their respective barangays for the purchase of the materials and equipment indicated in the proposals.

Sangguniang Bayan Members Hon. Prado and Hon. Gervacio both encouraged the members of the associations to help each other in obtaining the goal of making their livelihood project profitable and a success.

Hon. Maxirey Gervacio, the Brgy. Captain of Agnocnoc thanked the department for the assistance.

Hon. Joenan Sarmiento, the Brgy. Captain of Poblacion, encouraged his constituents not to give up on the livelihood project.

The awarded fund will be used to purchase various equipment, tools, raw materials and packaging materials specified in the submitted proposal of the association and approved by the department in order to materialize their goal - to give their members additional source of income to alleviate their living condition.
