DOLE MIMAROPA prepares for the holding of 2017 Labor Day Job and Business Fairs

As part of the annual nationwide celebration of Labor Day and with this year’s theme “Matatag na Kabuhayan at Trabaho, Tungo sa Progresibong Pagbabago,” the DOLE-Oriental Mindoro Field Office with support from DOLE MIMAROPA Regional Office, the PESO Managers Association of Oriental Mindoro, Inc. (PMAOMI) in cooperation with the Municipal Government of Roxas in Oriental Mindoro will be holding the 2017 Labor Day Job and Business Fairs at Roxas Gymnasium on May 01, 2017. 

As of April 21, 2017 four (4) recruitment agencies offering overseas employment and eight (8) employers for local employment confirmed their participation to the job fair.

Recruitment agencies include Phil Q Manpower Services, Inc. (needing Dental Lab Technicians, Medical lab. Tehnicians, Dental specialist, Radiology Technician for Saudi Arabia, and waitress/waiter, general cleaner, supervisor, coordinator, secretary for Qatar);  Maanyag International Manpower Corp (household service workers for Kuwait, Malaysia, Singapore, Jordan & Japan);  1st Northern International Placement, Inc (cashier and waiter for Bahrain) and  A & W International Manpower Services Specialist (car Mechanic, painter, hairdresser, loading ang unloading worker, aluminum technician for Saudi arabia,  factory worker for Taiwan, waitress/waiter for Qatar, and Storage Puppet Artists for UAE).

For local employment, employers confirmed to join the job fair are the following : EPSON ( production operators); Starlite Ferries (7-ticketing clerk and 7- port cashiers); Altavest General Services, Inc. (1000-production operators for EPZA Rosario, Cavite, company nurse, driver); Nippi Manpower (100-production operators and welders); Abednego (1-mold die operator, 2-mold maintenance operator, production checker); AMRC Holdings Co., Inc. (Mall Manager, marketing Manager, Restaurant Supervisor, Accounting Asst, Front Desk Officer, service Crew, maintenance, room attendant, veterinarian, etc.).; and Palawan Pawnshop (Branch cashiers) while other invited employers are expected to confirm attendance to the activity.

Two (2) meetings were held where the PMAOMI and DOLE RO/DOLE Or Mindoro Field Office discussed the preparatory activities and the tasking of different committees for purposes of having smooth flow of the activity.

PESOs were requested to disseminate information in each area of jurisdiction through local radio stations advertisement, and distribution of leaflets/flyers.

Expanding the delivery of services to the constituents of Oriental Mindoro, simultaneous with the holding of the job fair, the Professional Regulation Commission will cater renewal of Professional Licenses and the Civil Service Commission will accept application for the Civil Service Examination for August 2017. 

Workers’ associations with DOLE assisted livelihood projects in Roxas and in nearby municipalities are likewise invited to showcase and introduce their respective products during the job fair.

Relatively, DOLE Or Mindoro Field Office and PESO – LGU Roxas will be having a massive mobile information dissemination from April 24-30, 2017.

On May 01, as part of the job fair activity, the DOLE – Regional Director, Atty Alvin M. Villamor, will award the checks to the following under the livelihood program of the department: LGU – Gloria – P8.0 M for the Establishment of Municipal Technical Vocational trainings/Assessment/ Service Center, under the Bottom-up Budgeting (BuB) Program; Brgy Sta. Rita, Pinamalayan, Or. Mindoro – P470,580.00 for the Establishment of Garment factory of Samahan ng Lingap Pamilyang Pinamalenyo; Brgy Tambong, Gloria, Or. Mindoro – P644,700.00 for the Establishment of Homecare Products Factory of Citizen’s Crime Watch  (CCW) MIMAROPA; and Brgy. Villa Cerveza, Victori, or. Mindoro – P400,527.00 for the Organic Fertilizer Production “Vermi – Cast”  of Kabuhayan Tungo Sa Magandang Kinabukasan.

Job Fair is an employment facilitation strategy aimed to fast-track the meeting of jobseekers and employers/overseas recruitment agencies in one venue at a specific date to reduce cost, time and effort particularly on the part of the applicants. This is open to all unemployed, skilled and unskilled workers, fresh college graduates, graduates of training institutions, displaced workers and employees seeking advancement. During the Jobs Fair, applicants select vacancies suited to their qualifications and employers could interview and hire on the spot qualified workers.
