DOLE Marinduque conducts 2017 Career Congress

120 Guidance Councelors and Designates participated in this one –day Seminar to enhance the skills and get updates on different programs of DOLE, CHED and PESO. Buenavista National High School Principal Mrs. Luzviminda Salvacion graciously shares her experiences of being career guidance advocate. She stressed the big role that career guidance advocates played for guiding the youth towards growth. “Hindi madali ang trabaho ng isang career guidance advocate, it would test our patience.” Dr. Leodegario M. Jalos Jr, Vice-President for Academic Affairs of Marinduque State College graced this event.

DOLE programs, advocacies and studies related to employment was presented by Mr. Marjun S. Moreno wherein he stressed that there is a need to guide students in choosing the right course that would guarantee stable employment after graduation. Participants were able to get to understand the different programs of DOLE which they may offer to their constituents and clients.

OIC LMD-PESO Manager, Ms. Alma Timtiman presented the role PESO played in Career Advocacy. She further presented how PESO promotes and helps in disseminating labor market information including hot jobs in the market, be it through career information and guidance or through labor and information campaigns of PESO.

The said congress served as a venue for the participants to have more technical learning with regards to activities involving molding the minds of the youth thru giving them the needed support as they prepared for the world of work.
