DOLE Marinduque awards 2 livelihood assistance amounting to 2.1 M

Last May 24, 2017, DOLE MIMAROPA ARD Atty. Sixto Rodriguez Jr.  together with DOLE Marinduque Field Office staff, headed by its Field Officer, Mr. Luis B. Evangelista awarded livelihood grants to 2 associations. 1.7M worth of livelihood grant was awarded to the Local Government Unit of Sta. Cruz for the project Lapu-Lapu Culture in the Fish Cage of Kapisanan ng mga Mangingisda ng Barangay Angas (KaMBA). Local Government of Torrijos, on the otherhand, received the amount of P406, 000.00 for the Arrowroot production of Samahan ng Magsasaka sa Barangay Nangka.

Hon. Mayor Lorna Q. Velasco of LGU Torrijos was very thankful for the livelihood grant given to them. Likewise, LGU Sta. Cruz Mayor Hon. Marissa Red-Martinez stressed out that the given grant will not only help the members of the association but also the members of the community. As the ACP, both LGU will not only purchase the necessary materials, tools and equipment but will also help the department in the monitoring of the progress of each livelihood.


Presidents and members of the associations promised that the funds given to them will not go to waste but rather change the lives of their members and the community as well for the better. They were very thankful for the opportunity given to them by the department. “Malaki po ang maitutulong sa aming pamumuhay ng biyayang binigay sa amin ng DOLE”.


Both activities were attended by the respective Mayors, LGU-PESO managers, officers and members of the two associations. The awarding of the livelihood grants were held in the Municipal Hall of Torrijos and Municipal Hall of Sta. Cruz, respectively.
