DOLE Romblon orients 93 GIPs of the province, encourages them for outstanding performance

The Department of Labor and Employment Romblon Field Office held two orientations for the beneficiaries of Government Internship Program in the province for the months of May and July. The orientations were to enlighten interns of their roles and duties as GIPs and the roles and responsibilities of the department as well.

The first cluster was oriented on May 30, 2017, attended by interns from municipalities in Tablas, San Jose, Corcuera, and Banton with a total of 75 beneficiaries.  They were oriented at Sato Resort and Hotel Corporation, Odiongan, Romblon.

Hon. Trina Alejandra Q. Firmalo – Fabic gave a message that highlighted the interns’ tasks as public servants in their respective municipalities. Moreover, Ms. Alicia C. Fetalvero, Provincial PESO Manager, reminded the interns to do their best and be honest while availing the program. “Always be honest on your job and always do your best, kasi maraming GIP nung previous years ang nagtatrabaho na ngayon sa gobyerno kasi naabsorb sila kaya galingan nyo rin.”

Mr. Carlo B. Villaflores, DOLE Romblon FO Head reminded the interns to be patient and be mindful when doing their internship because GIP is an opportunity for them to showcase their knowledge and talents in serving the public. Mr. Jay Dalino, the Government Internship Program Focal Person, headed the orientation proper.

The second cluster of GIPs was oriented last June 13, 2017 at Rance’s Haven, Tampayan, Magdiwang, Romblon. Twenty three (23) interns gathered for the said activity. Mr. Philip R. Ruga, DOLE Mimaropa TSSD Chief, gave a short message about Government Internship Program and other programs and services the department offer. Hon.
