DOLE MIMAROPA Internal Auditors hold meeting for this year’s 2nd ISO internal audit

In preparation for the upcoming second internal audit for this year to monitor continual conformance to ISO requirements, a meeting of internal auditors was held on July 06, 2017 in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.

Internal Audit Head, Ms. Rosemarie Campos presented to the group some of the improvements to be made in the forthcoming audit scheduled on July 18-19, 2017 which were based on the observations of the external auditor. From the old practice of including procedures with no transactions in a particular office or unit in every audit plan (twice a year), they will now be only included once a year. Audit notes and audit reports shall now include all the processes audited unlike in the past which required preparation of separate notes and reports per process. An audit summary per office/unit shall also be prepared by the internal auditors as part of their audit reports. These changes basically aim to provide a more comprehensive and all-inclusive audit report.

Verification and closing out of issued Corrective/Preventive Action Reports (CPARs) to non-conformities noted during the last audit conducted in January of this year and conformities to all revised and updated processes will be among the top priorities to look at in the upcoming audit. The audit will cover all processes/transactions of DOLE MIMAROPA from February to July 2017.

The internal auditors are composed of Rosemarie Campos as the head, Loreta Catapang, Chrie Lou Calinao, Lesly Romero (all from Technical Services and Support Division or TSSD), Jovert Labay (from Internal Management Services Division or IMSD), Mylene Lleno (from Occidental Field Office) and Renell Mayo (from Romblon Field Office).

The DOLE MIMAROPA has been ISO 9001:2008 certified since March 13, 2015, presently working on its transition to ISO 9001:2015 and preparing for re-certification slated early of 2018.

The department’s conformance to ISO requirements is in line with its sincere commitment to extend uniform, balance and quality service to its clients.
