DOLE awards Php 872,751.00 to Libertad National High School Parents Teachers Association

On July 21, 2017, the Department of Labor and Employment through DOLE Romblon Field Office awarded the livelihood project of School Canteen Management with Catering Services to the Libertad National High School Parents Teachers Association amounting to eight hundred seventy two thousand and seven hundred fifty one pesos (Php 872,751.00).

At the start of the awarding ceremony, Mr. Roque Falible, Principal II of Libertad National High School, explained that the request for livelihood assistance from the Department of Labor and Employment is one of the steps to make LNHS a better and more outstanding learning institution. This livelihood project will not only help the members of Parents Teachers Association by providing them with additional income but it will also help the students that want to pursue a track in TVL.


Hon. Alfonso Firmalo Jr., Barangay Captain of Libertad gladly thanked the department for the livelihood project because he said it will also enhance the skills of senior high school students. He also hinted that this activity would encourage other associations in their barangays to avail another of this DOLE’s program.

The PESO Manager of Odiongan, Mrs. Novelita F. Fruelda, persuaded the parents and members of the association to take good care of the project because it is a good opportunity for them.

Furthermore, Hon. Trina Alejandra Q. Firmalo – Fabic thanked DOLE for the huge amount granted to the school. She encouraged the members of the association and school to support the livelihood project, and nurture it to benefit the whole community.


Mr. Carlo B. Villaflores, Field Office Head of DOLE Romblon FO reminded the association and the barangay officials to liquidate after the procurement process. He also thanked the school, the BLGU and LGU for their support in every program the department offers. Lastly, Mr. Teody I. Ferranil, LNHS PTA President expressed his words of gratitude and assured the department and other stakeholders that the association will make sure that the livelihood project becomes successful.
