DOLE MIMAROPA recognized as one of the Outstanding Implementers of the WODP Training

During the Bureau of Labor Relations’ (BLR) 61st Anniversary held at Citystate Tower Hotel, Ermita, Manila, last January 16, 2018, DOLE MIMAROPA was commended as one of the outstanding region in implementing the Workers Organization Development Program (WODP) which focuses on training grants. The plaque of recognition was awarded by Usec. Joel B. Maglungsod, Undersecretary for Labor Relations and Special Concerns, duly assisted by Asec. Maria Gloria A. Tango, and Dir. Benjo Santos M. Benavidez, Bureau of Labor Relations Director. It was received by the Labor Relations Focal Persons of DOLE MIMAROPA headed by its TSSD Chief, Mr. Philip Ruga, Ms. Maria Socorro Marquez, Election Officer Designate, Mr. Gene Mike Musni, Tripartism and Social Dialogue Focal, and Ms. Anna Dominique C. Magbanua, focal for the Registration of Unions/CBAs/WAs.

WODP focuses on developing the capabilities of the workers and their organization to perform their roles effectively and efficiently towards the promotion of trade unionism, worker’s empowerment, and sound labor-management relations. The scope extends to enhancing the entrepreneurial capabilities of workers organizations and their members, and in setting up sustainable income or employment-generating projects, as well as enhancing women’s productive role in national development participation in workers organization and trade unionism.

Before the 61st Anniversary, a 2-day training-workshop was conducted to further strengthen the capabilities of focal persons in the labor relation programs they are respectively handling. The 3rd day was intended for the culmination of the activities conducted and the celebration of BLR’s 61st Anniversary. Dir. Benavidez stressed that having invited all the regional focal persons, this is a good opportunity to recognize and acknowledge the contributions of each region in the effective delivery of the Bureau’s programs and services aimed to inspire all regional focal persons to pursue excellence in their work and be a catalyst of maintaining industrial peace. Other awards given were for Labor and Employment Education Services, Tripartism and Social Dialogue, Workers Organization Development (Scholarship), Registration (Union/CBA/WAs), and Intra- and Inter-Union Case Disposition programs.
