359 beneficiaries of Romblon receive DOLE SPES salary counterpart

Summer break is over and student beneficiaries received their hard-earned salaries from the Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) implemented for twenty days at the different municipalities in the province of Romblon.

A total of Php1, 044,801.16 SPES salary was released for the 359 student beneficiaries.

Students as well as the parents are thankful for the program of the Department. Beneficiaries see this type of summer job as a significant program providing experiences that develops their personality and ability to perform their duties and responsibilities. It also enhanced their skills and communication in interacting with different people in the community. At the end of employment period students will reap what they sow as they earned salaries – the most exciting part that will serve as support for their educational expenses on the upcoming school year or semester.

“The program really helped me boost my self-confidence especially in dealing with other people in the workplace. I recommend that SPES would cater more students because there’s a lot who also want this opportunity”, said by Charles Andrew Galindez, one of the SPES beneficiaries.
