DOLE Marinduque’s Job Fair generates 48% HOTS

BOAC, MARINDUQUE- Department of Trade and Industry, DOLE Marinduque, Public Employment Service and other national agencies successfully conducted the 3rd Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan Job Fair last 24 July 2019 held at the Convention Center, Capitol compound with a theme of “Pagpupugay sa Manggagawang Pilipino”.

 

Governor Presbitero Velasco Sr., in his preliminary message, emphasizing that there will be more employment opportunities and more livelihood programs that will be coming ahead for the benefit of the locals. He encouraged everyone to create small and medium enterprises, to build micro-cooperatives and help one another to achieve greater success. The governor promises to help promote the welfare of the Marinduquenos. “Isang makabuluhangpagbabago para samarinduque”. “Gusto ko po tayo ay lalakad sa ibang lugar at taas noong sasabihing Ako ay Marinduqueno, magaling, mahusay, matalino, at dignidad”, he said. Also, he envisions the province to be an agro-eco-tourism spot by establishing multi-cooperatives in the barangay level.

Mr. Joel M. Gonzales, OIC Regional Director of DOLE MIMAROPA, was also present during the activity delivering his informative and inspiring message by highlighting the increasing number of job vacancies: “For more chances to become HOTS, make sure that you (applicants) have submitted your portfolio to a minimum of 5 employers”, he added.

Moreover, the RD Gonzales visualized that someday Marinduqueños will successfully achieved and/or reached the electronically aligned transactions. He stressed that in the world of work, good attitude plays a big factor unlike interpersonal skills and knowledge - which can be easily learned. Lastly, for more meaty credentials applicants was advised to earn national certificates from TESDA.

The following five overseas recruitment agencies conducted preliminary interviews with applicants seeking opportunities abroad: (1) BS INTL. Services and Placement Agencies; (2) EyeQuest International Manpower Services Inc.; (3) Placewell International Services Corporation; (4) Ipeople Manpower Resources Inc; and (5) 1st Northern Manpower Agency.

For local employment, ten companies joined the event: (1) Venture Motorcycle Sales Corporation; (2) SYM Riders Corp; (3) Fubu; (4) Palawan pawnshop; (5) One source general solotions Inc; (6) Mustang security agency Inc; (7) PKI; (8) Holistic Approach System Inc; (9) Epson Precision Phil Inc.; and (10) HGST, a western digital company.

At the end of hiring activity, 551 registered applicants were recorded resulting to 267 as Hired-On-The-Spot (HOTS).

“Napakalaking Tulong po sa aming mga aplikante ang ganitong programa, di na po kami gagastos ng malaki para makapag-apply,” uttered by Dianne Malagotnot, HOTS applicant.

Also, consultations with different national agencies were also offered to jobseekers.
