DOLE Palawan releases 1.2M for 200 TUPAD beneficiaries in Linapacan

Last 09 January 2020, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Palawan Field Office facilitated the payment amounting to Php1,280,000.00 for 200 Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) beneficiaries in the municipality of Linapacan, Palawan.

These workers coming from vulnerable sectors received an amount of 6,400.00 pesos each for community service they rendered in the various public facilities in the said municipality in the last quarter of 2019.

Also known as Emergency Employment Program, identified vulnerable and unemployed workers engaged in community works for the duration of 20 days.

Workers engaged in short-term social community works such as but not limited to repair, maintenance, and/or improvement of common public facilities and infrastructure such as schools and health centers, debris clearing, de-clogging of canals, debris segregation and materials recovery, stockpiling and clearing, among others.

DOLE MIMAROPA also covered the accident insurance of these workers for one (1) year. Each worker received Php320.00/day of work, the prevailing minimum wage in the MIMAROPA Region.

TUPAD or EEP is a community-based (municipality/barangay) package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed, and seasonal workers, for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed a maximum of 90 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed.

DOLE Palawan staff Shawn Cassandrabelle Amaris B. De Castro (LEO III) and Angelie Mae J. Berueda, with the assistance of LGU Linapacan PESO Manager Marisol Del Prado, personally distributed the pay-out of wages to the beneficiaries.
