DOLE OccMin facilitates P449k workers claim through SEnA

The year 2020 in the Department of Labor and Employment Occidental Mindoro Field Office indicates a continuous yet improved public service throughout the province.

For the succeeding two months from January to February, the Office reported a settlement rate of 100% for the 13 Single Entry Approach (SEnA) Request for Assistance (RFAs) filed with a total settlement amount of PhP449,900.12 benefitting 29 workers in the average of 11 days as of writing.

Eleven workers who were separated from a water-refilling station were able to receive their claims for underpaid wages and separation pay in the total amount of PhP115,000.00, after holding three (3) conferences in the office called by SEnA Desk Officer (SEADO) Gener L. Francisco.  These workers who untiringly performed their duties amidst the formidable situation brought by TY Ursula had finally received the prize of their hard works.

On the other hand, a baker and two bakery staff were also able to receive their claims on unpaid wages and overtime pay from their employer reaching the total amount of PhP16, 284.00 after the assigned SEADO, Jessa G. Benoza handled the workers’ RFAs in two (2) conferences. Despite the misunderstandings and disagreement between the two parties, the management mutually agreed that these issues must be settled rather than be elevated as a case, thus, granting the claims of the workers.

Meanwhile, a separated agency employee who worked as a merchandiser in the province also received his claims from his agency amounting to PhP20, 095.31 as payment for his Service Incentive Leave and 13th-month pay after holding two conferences in Mamburao.

Further, two hotel staff from San Jose were able to receive their monetary claims from their employer as payment for their three months’ unpaid salaries and 13th-month pay reaching a total monetary benefit of PhP61,924.00 after three conferences.

DOLE Occidental Mindoro Field Office Head Carlo B. Villaflores lauded the Field Office’s SEADO’s hard works for doing a great job and encourages more to continuously strive for excellent service.

SEnA is a conciliation-mediation program that aims to provide a faster, fairer, inexpensive resolution of labor issues between employees and employers.
