DOLE, PESO hold Virtual Meeting in Marinduque

BOAC, MARINDUQUE - The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through its Marinduque Field Office (FO) successfully conducted the 3rd quarter virtual meeting last 19 August 2020 with the seven Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Managers.

With the new normal, DOLE Marinduque opted to have a virtual meeting as a mode of informing and sharing with the PESO managers updates of the 2020 mid-year accomplishments and the targets and plans for the remaining semester.

In his opening remarks, DOLE Marinduque Provincial Director Peter James Cortazar reminded PESO Managers about the effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic as well as on how to find different ways and means to continue facilitating employment programs and services and being productive despite the current situation adhering to all the minimum health requirements without compromising health and safety of everyone. 

With the usual support, DOLE MIMAROPA OIC Regional Director Albert E. Gutib, joined the virtual meeting as he congratulated everyone for their performance and accomplishments and sustained services to their constituents.

“In spite of these trying times, we should always be prepared to respond to the needs of our people with our mandates on our hands ready to be delivered whatever happens. We always remind our partners and stakeholders not to take for granted in the observance of minimum health and safety protocols during the implementation of our programs and services to ensure the safety and protection of everybody against corona virus infection.” Director Gutib said.

Highlights of the meeting were: (1) Results of DOLE MIMAROPA Mid-Year Performance Assessment (MYPA); (2) Catch-Up Plan for 2020 Remaining Targets; (3) DOLE-DTI Joint Monitoring; (4) Special Program for Employment of Students (5) PESO monthly report; (6) Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Activities; (7) Child Labor Prevention and Elimination Program; (8) Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Implementation; (9) DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP); (10) Government Internship Program (GIP); (11) Organizing Association of Kasambahay; and (12) Scheduled DOLE Webinars.

With the challenges brought by COVID-19 pandemic, the DOLE and PESO partnership remains strong and will continue to deliver the government’s assistance and services for benefit of Marinduqueños.

PESO is considered as the DOLE’s indispensable link to the Local Government Units ensuring prompt and efficient delivery of employment facilitation services as well as to provide timely information on labor market and DOLE programs.
