DOLE awards starter kits to 37 beneficiaries in Marinduque

BOAC, MARINDUQUE - The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through its Marinduque Field Office in partnership with the Provincial Government of Marinduque (PGM) released starter kits to thirty-seven beneficiaries last 21 September 2020, this Municipality.

The various livelihood projects include food vending, bread and pastry, polvoron making, reflexology–therapy and massage, and Hog Raising.

Maybo, who expressed her gratitude to the government. (Thank you very much DOLE, this is a very big help to our daily needs especially this time. This will serve as additional income to my family and will support our daily needs. Now, I have the opportunity to share this to others and not be the one to be helped by others)

The recipients were part of the 108 target beneficiaries for the one million worth of livelihood assistance awarded by DOLE to the Provincial Government as the accredited co-partner (ACP).

Governor Presbitero J. Velasco, Jr. through Russel S. Madrigal, Executive Assistant IV thanked the DOLE for the latter’s support that helped beneficiaries and their families in coping up in these trying times and reminded the beneficiaries to be thankful for all the aids and support from the government that they received.

(This program is a great help to provide livelihood to those most in need especially this challenging time. I hope we do not waste this opportunity especially the help given to us. Let’s nurture this assistance to sustain our livelihood in the future).

In response, Provincial Director Peter James Cortazar who represented the OIC Regional Director Albert Gutib, expressed his gratitude to the Provincial Government of Marinduque for the support to the department and said: “Hangad namin sa Department of Labor and Employment sa tulong ng Provincial Government at ng Public Employment Service Office ay patuloy kaming aatang sa bawat isa sa atin para sa tulong pangkabuhayan. (We in the Department of Labor and Employment with the help of the Provincial Government and the Public Employment Service Office will continue to reach out to each of us for economic assistance. We want you to adapt well and love the livelihoods assistance. We want you to grow your business. Let us work hard to improve our lives).

The DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) seeks to contribute to poverty reduction and reduce the vulnerability to risks of the working poor, vulnerable and marginalized workers through promotion of entrepreneurship and community enterprises.
