Employer grants separation pay to resigned employee in Palawan

Under its Single Entry Approach (SEnA) Program, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Palawan Field Office assisted an establishment as the latter initiated to release a separation pay package to its resigned employee in the total amount of P280,750.00.

Danilo*, who had a fruitful work experience in an appliance store as operations manager for 23 years, received the monetary benefits from his employer.  He decided to terminate his job with the company to look for a greener pasture.

Despite leaving the company, the management still appreciated Danilo’s honesty and loyalty for years during his stay. Hence, a representative from the appliance store together with Danilo appeared before the Palawan Field Office for the actual payment not only for the separation pay but also for his loyalty pay and financial assistance.

Observing minimum health standards and protocols, SEnA desk officer Ma. Socorro U. Marquez effectively handled and facilitated the request of the employer.

Meanwhile, DOLE MIMAROPA OIC Regional Director Albert E. Gutib commended the company for valuing their employee as he said “I really appreciate the generosity of the company in giving separation pay package to its employee witnessed by DOLE personnel. This demonstrated the true heart of an employer towards their hardworking employee.”

SEnA is a reform measure institutionalized through Department Order No. 107-10 to provide a speedy, impartial, inexpensive and accessible settlement procedure of all labor issues or conflicts to prevent them from ripening into full-blown disputes or actual labor cases.
