Before the work engagement, per Department Order No. 173-17, beneficiaries were oriented on 18 January 2021 about health and safety protocols as well as the reportorial documents that should be submitted for processing of salaries.

TUPAD beneficiaries were engaged in community works such as clearing, cleaning, declogging of canals, and basic repair of public infrastructures for 10-15 days.

At the end of work program, they will receive a salaries ranging from P3,200.00-P4,800.00 based on the prevailing minimum wage in the region to be released through remittance center.

Meanwhile, DOLE MIMAROPA Regional Director Atty. Joffrey M. Suyao through its Provincial Director Roderick F. Tamacay said “Recently, we have heard that COVID-19 has a new variant which is accordingly more transmissible than the older versions of the coronavirus; employers, especially those workers who were previously terminated due to the older version of COVID-19 are much more worried this time that they can’t get their job back immediately.  Some of them are already losing hope.  With this TUPAD funds, worth Php 4,800.00 salary per beneficiary, is already a big help for them, at least can give them a breather to cope-up with COVID-19 pandemic.”

TUPAD under Bayanihan 2 is a safety net program that provides temporary wage employment to the workers in the informal sector particularly the unpaid family workers and self-employed workers with elementary occupations who were displaced or whose earnings were affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
