DOLE Marinduque conducts webinar on Work Ethics of a Productive Worker

BOAC, MARINDUQUE – On 19 August 2021, DOLE MIMAROPA, thru its Marinduque Field Office led by PD Peter James D. Cortazar, in collaboration with the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board MIMAROPA (RTWPB) successfully conducted an online seminar to sixty- eight (68) participants on the WORK ETHICS OF A PRODUCTIVE WORKER and PRODUCTIVITY BASED INCENTIVE SCHEME via Zoom platform.

To open the program, PD Cortazar welcomes the participants and the speaker and the Board Secretary of RTWPB, Mr. Romeo E. Opis. “To maximize our employees’ productivity, we need to foster an environment in which we reinforce all positive results to enable a productive business environment. Positive work and management attitude also increases productivity. On the other hand, if a worker is dejected because he missed a target, his/her attitude might become more negative and he might not exhibit the same work ethic as s/he had before”, PD Cortazar said in his message.

As speaker, BS Opis discussed the topics: work ethics of a productive worker, employer preference on hiring, how ISTIV is applied in the workplace and company culture and basic steps on how to blend into a company culture. He also mentioned about the work ethics most sought by employers which are: integrity, honesty, discipline, fair respect, responsibility and accountability.

Work Ethics of a Productive Worker is a training program of the National Wage and Productivity Commission which aims to equip participants with work ethics enabling them to become productive workers. The webinar served as an advocacy strategy to support DOLE wage subsidy programs like JobStart Philippines, Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES), Government Internship Programs (GIP) and National Occupational Safety and Health.
